The Needle's Notion

Leapfrog

These playful frogs and shiny dragonflies are having some summer fun. They represent one of my earliest memories when I was age three or four. My big sister and I decided to try our luck at catching frogs in the nearby creek. I remember my sister telling me to wait on the bank while she went to search. While she was gone, I spotted a big, fat frog close to me. I was sure I could reach down and get that frog. Everyone would be impressed that I caught it all by myself. I made a dive toward the frog. SPLASH! Into the water I went, but all I caught was trouble. Perhaps that's why these leapfrogs are smiling - they still remember seeing me dripping wet.

The Leapfrog design is stitched with DMC floss, Kreinik braids and Mill Hill beads on 28 count Cashel Linen. Specialty stitches include Smyrna cross, herringbone stitch and satin stitch.

Stitch Count: 159 wide x 116 high. Design size: 11 1/2 x 8 1/4 inches.
