The Needle's Notion

Harvest Henry - Finishing Tips

Use Turkey Stitch Variation to resemble straw on arms, legs and hair. Flip design upside down and work stitches in holes between rows of cross stitch. Make loops and tie down with horizontal stitches.

Loops for hair are primarily worked inside the cross stitched outline of the head. To add fullness, a couple stitches can be added just outside the outline, opposite the eyes.

Cut body and arm shapes from felt.

Use light box or window to center stitched body over felt backing piece. Tack in place with glue.
